Ray, if I remember correctly...when I saw the post the thought crossed my mind [didn't take long...it's a short distance]...

If a person only dapples when he is fishing ...is he a fly fisherman?

After starting to type it I decided it was a stupid question and besides I don't really like most of the "what is fly fishing?" banter...so I deleted it...must have forgotten about the above comment.

Before anyone jumps on this....of course dappling is part of a fly fisherman's repertoire.[/quote]

Ducksterman

Hahahaaa

Absolutely no problem at all

I dapple but only when I think nothing else will get the fish that I am after..

I fished a lot of small streams in my home Provence of New Brunswick...

But out here in the west there is not a lot of call for it.

I will do it if my casting shoulder/wrist (operated on by army surgeon/broken in two places) will not let me do any more casting or if the bank vegetation is too thick or high to get a good cast, but there is room and a means to fight the fish...

Sooo am I a dastardly Dappl'er, YES, heee haaa, but not IMI not - exclusively

Def : IMI - I SAY AGAIN
