    Default Larva lace

What is this material made of, and what patterns is it used with?
    Thanks!

Any pattern that calls for a segmented body, like a caddis larva or midge larva pattern. Shane Stalcup also recommends it for segmented bodies on Mayfly nymphs. It comes in a variety of colors and sizes to match a variety of patterns.

It is vinyl as in plastic raincoats.

It's also fun to weave and braid with. I've seen some neat stonefly nymphs with braided bodies. I saw some extended-body mayflies made out of it with tail fibers sticking out of it. If Phil Camera's book, "Tying with Synthetics" is still out there, you will see a bunch of patterns tied with Larva Lace.
