Right now, I am reading " What the Trout Said" by Datus Proper, for about at least the 4th or 5th time. Humor, fishing and fly info, it has it all. For many years I read Ray Bergman's " Trout " every off-season, if not the whole book, a big chunk of it each year until I had read it all again. I recently bought Proper's last book, " Running Waters ". it sits right under " What the Trout Said " as soon as it is finished, I will go to the new one. There will be no more from Datus Proper, as he passd on last year, I believe.

We fly fishiers are so privilieged to have the quantity of good writing that is available to us now. 20-30-40 years ago there was some good stuff, but not a lot of it. My book budget takes a beating even trying to keep up, which is not possible anyway. On top of the good books, the FF magazines are, for the most part also really good, and even better, the many websites now, leading the way of course is FAOL, the best of the best.
