Default Scientific Anglers, #One on my List

    Cudos to Scientific Anglers!!
Glen Weaver stoped by today on his way to his job at Eagle Village to talk about the Fish-In with the girls last month.
Now SA had donated the rods, reels, etc to help get the program started. Glen showed me a box of SA flylines, leaders, tipet material and insect repellant he had just been given by SA. There had to be close to $2,000.00 worth of equipment in that box.
They want to donate 24 float tubes also but have to work out the liability problem.
What a company! They will get all the business I can give them!

    Dear Jack,

    That's a mighty generous donation.

I wonder how long it will be before someone chimes in and says it's just a marketing ploy like they did on the Orvis rod exchange thread?

Who cares if people think it's a marketing ploy? S.A. might be spending a few bucks to promote themselves but if that gear attracts
a few new flychuckers out of the next generation they're spending that money to promote us and our sport.
Besides I would rather see a company spend advertising money in direct action to promote
our sport than in another format that I will glance at and then forget.

Anyway just my two cents worth.Randy.

    Dear J. C.,

I used a smiley face, I was just funnin'.

Some of those Orvis bashers seemed serious.

    Jack,
Thanks for the post...companies like SA deserve our business, and they will certainly get more than a fair share of mine.

    Dear J.C.,

    No harm no foul.

I personally think that it's great that SA did what they did for the folks that Jack is talking about.

Sarcasm doesn't come across all too well on the internet so I suppose it's due time I stop trying it.

Being that I'm Irish I can't make that a promise.

It is always hard to judge one's motivation. It is easier to judge one's actions. SA did donate, others did not. Nice to know that as my rods are lined with SA. Now lets all say "THANK YOU SA"

    Rich,
Understood about budget, but I call it "positive advertising". It beats the heck out of destroying a vehicle by dropping from a helicopter or something like that. I much prefer to hear a company giving product for a good cause rather than wasting product in order to sensationalize an ad.
    Again.........GOOD for SA!
