Norfolk Virginia options?

The Department of Defense has determined that I need to spend the month from mid November to Mid December in Norfolk Virginia. I don't even get to come home for turkey day.

I have been there before but never for more that 3-4 days. This time I will have time off during my stay. So I am looking for suggestions for possible fishing venues, fresh or saltwater.

I do have a couple constraints, namely:

Can't book a guide since my schedule must be very flexible

Would need to stay within an hour drive or so of Norfolk, though I may get a do or two completely of and thus able to range farther afield.



I have gear for panfish to billfish so am well equiped for most possibilities. No, I am not going to haul all that gear, 2-3 rods at most.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
