What we lack in the beauty of the Western rivers and their surrounding mountains, we certainly make up for in numbers of fish available to the steelhead enthusiast. Ahhh, now I need to drag my butt back to work after watching such a beautiful display of fishies coming to hand. Sucks to be me on a beautiful Indian Summer day in NE Ohio.

Where did you get your stats? Northwest WA has many rivers that are loaded with steelhead! Right now, the salmon are spawning so egg patterns work very well. (Steelhead follow the salmon from the ocean into the rivers to feast on the abundance of eggs. Salmon die soon after spawning, so the eggs are unprotected and easy meals for steelhead, sea-run cutts, and dolly varden trout.)
