AHHHHHHHH. Now that's a good way to start the morning.
TT.
Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn!
Good fishing technique trumps all.....wish I had it.
For all of you Western States folks, that's just a sampling of what you get here along "Steelhead Alley." I stopped by the Chagrin River in Willoughby, Ohio to eat my lunch today, and saw six fish landed in 1/2 hour. Several more were hooked and lost.
What we lack in the beauty of the Western rivers and their surrounding mountains, we certainly make up for in numbers of fish available to the steelhead enthusiast. Ahhh, now I need to drag my butt back to work after watching such a beautiful display of fishies coming to hand. Sucks to be me on a beautiful Indian Summer day in NE Ohio.

Where did you get your stats? Northwest WA has many rivers that are loaded with steelhead! Right now, the salmon are spawning so egg patterns work very well. (Steelhead follow the salmon from the ocean into the rivers to feast on the abundance of eggs. Salmon die soon after spawning, so the eggs are unprotected and easy meals for steelhead, sea-run cutts, and dolly varden trout.)Originally Posted by Joe Valencic
Jim,
Nice looking fish. Very nice of you to pass him around so all your buddies could get a picture.
Seriously, very nice fish. You guys do get higher numbers of steel than we do. If that was all from one trip, it must have been a blast.

Wow! Way to go. I was going to say something stupid like "I could catch fish like that too if I could figure a way to cast a planer board." But I won't. Thanks for the pics. They're great.
Jim,
Nice pictures, nice fish....Best Regards
