It is recommended that one keep a rigged fly rod handy and you will be more likely to go out and practice...[thank you Tom White...rest his soul]

OK I've acquired fly rods of various qualities now and fish the better ones most of the time and so have them set up for fishing. It would be more convenient to setup a lesser quality rod to have at the ready.

Do you think it makes much difference within reason what quality of rod you practice with?
We could get into the action thing too.

Now I know some of you will say practice with the rod you fish with...but that could be several rods and besides I want to limit this discussion to the quality issue. I know we haven't defined quality .....
