I would caution comparisons of line diameter and strength, if the breaking strength is determined solely by the label on the manufacturers packaging. This is especially true for the spools of mono and fluorocarbon fishing line. There was recently an article in Sportfishing Magazine (I think that's where it was) that actually measured the breaking strength of the lines compared to their advertised breaking strength. Except for the IGFA rated lines, they all broke at a strength significantly higher than their advertized ratings. If one is thus measuring the diameter with calipers and comparing to the rated strengths on the packaging, who knows what you will find. Be sure you are comparing "apples to apples".
