    Default up-eye hooks

Anyone care to discuss the merits of up-eye dry fly hooks. Is there any advantage to using them in the smaller sizes such as 22, 24, 26 for midges and tricos?
I did a search an couldn't find anything specifically on them. Anyone care to share their opinions?
    Thanks

    lastchance,
I've read that an up eye hook in the smaller sizes doesn't interfere with the small hook gap like a down eye. I find it easier to finish the head on a very small fly when it has an up eye.

Some folks like the up eye for certain knots they use.....

I prefer ring (straight) eye hooks in the smaller sizes. Tiemco 101, for example. I seem to have more hooking issues with up-eye hooks. See Darrell Martin's "Micropatterns" for an explanation. The ring eye hook gives the same gap benefit without hooking issues.
