    Default Rick's FOTW

    Rick,

Thanks for sharing the fly on this week's FOTW. That is a really good bluegill/black perch fly that I have caught a lot of fish on. I also tie it using the rubber leg material for the tail. Just tie one leg on each side of the hook shank to form a "V". Folks this is a good fly pattern and if you do not have it in your fly box, you should have.

    Thanks, again, Rick.

Fly fishing and fly tying are two things that I do, and when I am doing them, they are the only 2 things I think about. They clear my mind.

Thanks for the idea of the rubber legs for the tail.

Out here we call that a girdle bug. I think Rick's tie would be a good helgramite.

    Hey Rick,

I lifted this photo from spinner1's website. Check out what's in this big brownie's jaw! Look familiar?

I don't recognize that fish at all, but the fly looks familiar.
