    Here you go!!

    RECIPE:
    HOOK:TIEMCO NYMPH(BARBLESS USED)#10
    THREAD:BLACK 8/0
BODY:white dacron fly-line backing colored blue then put black stripes on.(with a sharpie)
TAIL:same as body, except burn the end of the backing to keep it from fraying.
    WINGS:Sparkle emerger yarn, TAN
    WINGCASE:TAN FOAM, pulled over.

I totally thought up this pattern on my own!
treat it with floatant and it works great.

    hope you like it!!

Got to put my 02 in. You can get foam at any craft shop or the craft section of your local mega-mart. Many fly shops sell preformed foam bodies. I use mostly white and artist pens for color. You can also use Bucktail tied as an extended body Para Drake for these flies with a dubbed Thorax or for a real light body try a piece of Braided line cut to length and then colored. For Trout I use mustad 94840 hooks for bass the 3366.
The bass that I see chasing the flying damsels are usually the smaller fish below 12". Never thought to try to sink one. Got to give that a try. A larger fish might be sitting under the smaller ones just waiting for a sinking dragon.

Got back to my pond tonite with my dragin flies. 2 casts later I had the first bass . After the third cast I lost the fly on a about the only stump in the whole pond .
After that the bass 'shut down'. We had a front come thru that cooled things down from 102 to 74!! That pretty much shut the bass off. The bluegil were hitting a little so it wasn't a total loss..................except for enjoying some cool temps for a change!

Yup the dragon fly casts just like a wooley bugger. Maybe even easier because it weighed less.

Just as I expected the bass took the dragonfly "on the drop"........as it fell down thru the water on a 'free-fall'
Good fishing technique trumps all.....wish I had it.

    Hello,

How about a dragonfly that floats down slowly, is easy to cast (up to a 3" x 3" fly) and doesn't use foam?
