Censors needn't disallow any of my words, or provide filters for them. I'm not stupid. I filter my own words, and neither of those are cussing.

Den mother, ech? Yet I'm the one told to grow up.

    SilverMallard,
    You called me a 'Henchman' so I looked up the definition and this is what I found!;
    hench*man (hench'men)
    1. A Loyal and trusted Follower or subbordinate. (It's True! I'm a Loyal person)
    2. A person who supports a political figure chiefly out of selfish interests. (I'd sooner barf!)
    3. A member of a criminal gang. (You know that's something I've never tried!)
    4. A page to a Prince or other person of high rank. (I'd have to kiss a Prince's butt?)
SO!!!! I guess you were a LITTLE BIT right!!!

Well, I go away to take care of the yard and help a neighbor, only to return and find this diatribe going on against Betty. SM, take it from a 57 year old Vet and put your personal opinion in a box, swallow what's left of your pride and apologize for your misplaced remarks. We all have said things during our lives which we realize should never have been said. The smart person is the one who admits the error of their ways and asks forgiveness for their poor choice of words. The not-so-smart person defends their ignorance, and the moron argues himself into a deeper abyss.

IMHO, you have a choice here that is self evident. You have deeply hurt one of our own, and we will defend her integrity until our (or your) posting privileges are taken away. Let's bury this topic before any additional feelings are hurt, and get back to talking about fly fishing. I don't want to see anyone get banished over this thread, and I'm not sure how long JC will tolerate this.

Yeah, I'm kind of waiting for he and Deanna to read it myself. I don't apologize for getting attacked by anyone. And not a SINGLE law enforcement officer has contacted me and expressed that I offended them. If I unintentionally HAD and they approached it differently than Betty did, I would certainly apologize. That post has been up for something like 3 days now.

As for that "one of our own" business, Joe (who registered in 2006), Betty and I both joined FAOL within about 30 days of each other in early 2004. So you're sort of speaking out of school when you go there.

I will not trying to persuade you to my way of thinking. You have obviously "dug in" and are not open to other opinions. BTW, I had a great time with Betty at the Michigan Fish-In in July, so I don't think I'm speaking out of school as you suggest. Some people just have a great soul and you can sense that at the first meeting, and you don't need extended time to learn that.

You can have the last word and deliver your final jab (which I'm certain you will). I have spoken my piece and will just lurk to see how this goes.

Darn I was just going to lurk....but some things are so obvious...

    SM, you said...
"And not a SINGLE law enforcement officer has contacted me and expressed that I offended them."

So what... this is a fly fishing site ...try putting this in your local newspaper and see what response you get..."That's why most of our cops are idiots. Only a moron would embark upon a career plan like that."...

and I find this offensive...." And I still stand by my statement that only a moron would spend $50k to get a job that pays $10.50 - $13.50 an hour when he could make that at a fast food restaurant or tending bar with no education."

You are actually trying to tell me to believe that there are not people that choose their way of life because they want to contribute...to do something they desire ...to better society...to follow a dream...etc.

I find things in this thread more offensive than the last one that just disappeared....
