    Default New rod coming

Cabelas had their 4-piece Prestige combos on sale. Ordered a 4piece 4-wt. Can't wait to try it out..................................in Colorado next week!!
    Eat yer hearts out.

Of course it will be in cold water going after trout but don't hold that against me

I was out in Colorado 2-3 weeks ago (Fort Collins area). At that time the river I was fishing, the Poudre, was high and not fishing well because of a heavier than normal snowfall and a late spring, but, the lakes more than made up for it with lots of 4 pounders willing to take a dry fly.

    Have fun in cowboy land!

My son has the Cabela's 5 piece stow away rod and it's acutally quite a nice rod.

Congrats on your new rod. Let us know how it fishes.

Never have cast the Prestige rods. I have a few Three Forks rods and a Stowaway which are quite nice. I look forward to hearing your report on casting and catching!

First off it came as a combo. It has a mid-arbor reel on it that has great feel to it(for the price). The rod seems pretty stout for what I'd expect for a 4-wt(compared to my 9' 5-wt). It casts plenty strong and has decent feel. The tip seems a bit firm and lacks some of the feel I'd expect from a 4-wt. All-in-all a good package for.........................................$99.00 !
The rod/reel tube it came with has a very nice built-in pocket that can hold a medium-sized fly box, extra leaders, a fishing license in a holder and a pair of hemostats quite easily.

We packed them on our backs on dirt bikes and fished some remote areas. We had a fun week! I caught quite a few brookies and my buddy pulled a 13-14" brown out of a beaver dam. That was larger than we though we'd find at about 10,000 ft!

    Overall a great deal!

Back home today. I tried it out in my favorite pond. Caught about a 3lb bass with no problem and quite a few very large bull bream, again with no problem at all.
