Rinse them well in running water and let them dry. If they still need help steam them with a tea pot on the stove. Hold the fly with foreceps so you don't get burned. Most materials will come back as good as new
soak in warm soapy water, then rinse, and steam
Soak it water, then dry it, then put watershed on, then let that dry for 24 hrs, then put them in the flybox and use it when you go fishing
I usually just hang mine up in a tree....

The trick to cleaning flies is to start with a very sharp, and very tiny fillet knife....
If it swims and eats, it'll eat a fly.

Leave the head on or not?
It's best to leave the head on if you're just gutting them, that way they won't fall apart when you grill them.
