    Default how to clean a fly?

    I found a great spot (finally) to catch fish but man does it get my stuff dirty ! Any suggestions on how to clean those flys?

    Rinse them well in running water and let them dry. If they still need help steam them with a tea pot on the stove. Hold the fly with foreceps so you don't get burned. Most materials will come back as good as new

    soak in warm soapy water, then rinse, and steam

    Soak it water, then dry it, then put watershed on, then let that dry for 24 hrs, then put them in the flybox and use it when you go fishing

    The trick to cleaning flies is to start with a very sharp, and very tiny fillet knife....
    If it swims and eats, it'll eat a fly.

    An Exacto knife works good, too. But only if you can cut through to the top of the dining room table.

    I usually don't fillet just gut, but my question is:


    Leave the head on or not?

    It's best to leave the head on if you're just gutting them, that way they won't fall apart when you grill them.
    If it swims and eats, it'll eat a fly.
