I purchased a 9' 2 tip Montague Rapidian from eBay, and one of the tip sections needs straightened. The varnish, thread wraps/guides, etc. have been removed. The rod is bent in one direction coming out of the male ferrule. However, I have tried bending it in the opposite direction after slightly heating it up with a hair dryer as well as an alcohol lamp with undesirable results. The bend just doesn't want to straighten out. Is this common when dealing with old mass produced rods. I have built a few graphite rods, and wanted a bambo project rod to start with. Thanks.
