Hi All,
My wife fishes with me a lot. She always says that my rod is easier to cast than hers. I think I figured out that I use different line than she does. I ordered a line like mine for her rod. The line I have ordered for her is the Orvis Long Belly Trout line. I have 2 and love them. They are easy to mend etc. Her reel is a Orvis Battenkill Barstock, silver in color.

I also would like to consider building her a 5wt rod that's easy to cast. I think a fast action rods is not the ticket. What 9 ft. blank would you experienced folks recommend for a easy to cast 5 wt ?? I would like to put a pretty wood real seat on it as it would be her Trout rod.

I would like to keep it reasonably priced.

I have built one rod in the past. It was a 3 piece 7wt on a Scott Alpha blank using a REC reel seat.

One more note, she's currently using a Sage DS2.
