    Default Wader help!!

Well, it finally happened. I have a small hole somewhere in the stockingfoot of my waders. It got a little wet yesterday, and really cold! I couldn't feel my left foot, but the right one was toasty!! Anyways, my question is: how do I find the small hole in the waders? I have the stuff to patch it, I just can't see anything that small! Any ideas?

I had a real small home. I tried filling sections with air and looking for bubbles, but no help there. What ended up working for me was this: You probably have a idea of where the hole is. Turn the waders inside out. Fill up that section with water. Make sure the inside (now outside) is dry. Put a little pressure on the "water balloon" and watch for some discoloration in the inner membrane. I saw a dark spot forming. Dryed it off and repeated. Patched there and was cured.

You can try light bulbs, air, etc. ...but I would...starting with a dry stockingfoot just fill the foot with water....observe the leak....mark the spot...let it dry and repair......

fill the wash tub up with water then fill the waders with air and put the foot underwater, squeeze toward the stocking foot and it should buble up where the leak is

Here is what the pros do to fix wader leaks. The alcohol find is great.

The alcohol will only work on GoreTex waders tho. If your leak is on a neoprene foot, filling it up with water is probably the best approach.
