    I don't know exactly what you mean with Flipper Flies.
    But these kind of flies (streamers) do we normally use in the Netherlands when we are trying to catch pike.
    The rod we use for it is an #8 - #9 because the streamers are very heavy to cast.
    The material is mostly bucktail and zonker strips (strips of painted rabbit skin) Tied on a 1/0 - 6/0 hook
    Otherwise you can also try to use poppers.
    The last picture is one of a pike which I caught last winter.Not a big one...I have caught them much bigger!
