This sedge will I use when the fish carefull bites, and losses everytime. This pattern could be a solution for those moments. (I think you know this fly, but better say it twice than never told)
A normal pattern for a deerhair sedge is with a hackle on (a straight) hook, this is a small variation on it.
But catches sometimes better than the standard deerhair sedge. Because the gap between the point of the hook and the eye is a bit wider than normal and the point floats a bit deep under the surface.
Use a little bit hear's ear plus dubbing, and a piece of copper thread for ribbing, and wrap it around the bend of a shrimp hook, use a bit of deer hair and tie it in as a wing. Tight lines with it!
