    Default Beaverkill flood last night

looks like it was a wall of water down the beaverkill last night... prayers for all involved. I guess there are a few folks missing

    heres the post from catskillflies:

"We are doing an update to keep you aware of what transpired in Roscoe. This is the info we have amassed-hopefully it is all correct. Sometime last night heavy rains came (about 7 or 8 inches fell in 2 hours). The damage occurred at Cat Hollow -Route 206- where a trailer and a home were washed away with lives lost. Also missing is the Fire Chief of Cooks Falls. Route 206 above Roscoe is closed (a bridge got washed away) and there are State Troupers, Firemen and Police in town at the Roscoe-Rockland Fire House. They are searching for those missing. About 5 couples from out of town were unable to move their cars with water both behind and in front of them. They were lucky and escaped the waters although their cars are not so lucky. One, a gentleman named Vinnie, gave us a vivid description of what happened to him. Other than Cat Hollow Rd, we are unaware of any other damage. Raimondo and his daughter's homes were not damaged although their properties were. They live up on Cat Hollow. Nina and her family had a difficult night but they are all fine. Roscoe itself is fine with NO flooding"

I'd say this is a pretty fast rise:

    Dear Darkstar,

My thoughts and prayers go out to all involved. I spent a lot of time traveling Cat Hollow for work and I can only imagine what a wall of water would do to the area.

I have to wonder, how much more can the Beaverkill take? Isn't this about 4 or 5 floods in 3 years?

    Best Wishes,
    Avalon
