It's quite unusual to read a Article in the Oregonian about fishing on the East Coast, but there it was! a Article about the New River!
Apparently the New River is one of the Oldest Rivers.
Similiar to Oregon's Umpqua River.
World Class Smallmouth Fishery.
Recent State Record 8 lb Smallmouth caught and released and caught again!.
Author and party used popping bugs, bunny leaches and spoon flies.
Author's canoe tipped over and while standing in waist deep water, he found a PINK FLAMINGO!
The Flamingo was awarded as the Booby Prize to the Author for not catchin nuttin!
If anyone out there has a photo of a SPOON FLY, I would like to see it.
Thanks,
Doug P.S. Is that species of Flamingo native to the area????
