chavez,
I used to own a 9' 6 weight, 4 piece Powell Legacy. They called it the LGA model. I was forced to liquidate it due to finaces, and I regret it to this day. That was one really nice rod for the casting stroke I had at the time. It was very forgiving for a novice, and as it turned out, a nice rod to teach you how to cast just by using it. I paid $300 for it when it was on sale. I believe it retailed for $400+. I had compaired it to St Croix's Legend Ultra, and Gatti's FRTA (I think). For my stroke, (slow and inaccurate) the Powell fit me the best. I also found that the more I learned about casting, the more that rod fit me. It got faster and more accurate along with me. To make a long story short, Go with Castwell's words. If it makes you happy, buy it. Especially if you can get it for half what it's worth. FYI, mine was made after the Powell family was in charge. But I still wish I had it back.
