    Default Being a minimalist

    Hi there folks,

Any here have an minimalist approach to there fly fishing? I find that I carry lots of fly boxes but usually only use several patterns during the season. I would love to go minimalist but when i think about it, the 'what if' factor comes into play and I find I'm lacking in confidence. Its as if the extra boxes give me that little bit more of an edge, though some of them haven't seen sunlight in a while

    Cheers

when i used my vest i would take lots of stuff!!! but now i bought a william joseph chest pack in the small size..... and it has forced me to be a minimalist ! which i definately like !
now i only take 2 small fly boxes, 2 spools of tippet, nippers , forceps ,and a spare leader !! in my eyes and for me that is minimalist

I'd say i'm a minimalist. The bare minimum and never more than 75 flies.

    JC,
Are you saying your William Joseph Chest Pack is a Flotation Device also??
I looked at the packs online and I didn't notice any flotation.
    Thanks,
    Doug

I'm not JC, but I'll answer this one. We both wear Stormy Seas fishing vests, which are Floatation Vests. Life vests!
They are short, have just enough pockets and could save our lives.
