Default the good bad and ugly

I am so glad I have this place to post my frustrations. ok the good--- took my oldest sone (he is 32) to portland for a dr's visit. he has lost from 618 pounds to 586.
The bad---- When he has his surgery he will be in the hospital for 1 week tops. He will not be able to travel for 3 weeks. Tryiing to find a place to stay is going to be fun for reasonable price and for 3 weeks. I won't be able to be with him but the wife will. Not looking forward to that.

The ugly--I am from idaho and have not been in the portland area for 35 years. I still can't believe trafic lights on the freeway. I got lost only once but that was enough for me. Don't mean to offend anyone but man you can have the portland seattle area. The traffic was making me nuts. And the guys on motercycles what are they thinking riding in that sheeeeesh. It was very preaty though.

    I know about the UGLY!

I remember that there was no such thing as a traffic jam 35 years ago when I lived in Portales, NM. I was stationed there in the USAF. When I was discharged, my bride and I drove back to Cleveland, OH to start our new life (her choice of location (family), not mine). It took me more than a month to get that knot out of my stomach when I drove on the freeway. I just could not believe that there were that many crazed people in such a hurry to see how quickly they could travel from one traffic jam to the next. To this day I dislike getting on the freeway anytime around rush hour.

I WANT TO MOVE BACK INTO THE BOONIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HarleyBob - I lived in Portland area for over 50 years. You can blame all that traffic on Californians!!! The worse are the bicycle riders...and they wonder why so many get run over? That's why I now live in Michigan. Believe you me, if there is a wreck on I-94 here in Michigan, it gets pushed off the road right now and traffic continues. None of that bull $&^% investagating nonsense for 2 hours for a fender bender. I don't miss the west coast traffic one bit.

email me about a place to stay in Portland, I will send you mine and hers phone number. My sisters has a B&B and is reasonable. It will all depend on the dates, etc. Hope we can help you. Rich
