How do I search the fly archives for a pattern? Do I have to scroll through them all?

"We do not inherit the earth; we borrow it from our children."
Type the name of the pattern in the search box on the hom page and then click enter. i just tried "mini buggers" and got 187 places to look on FAOL

He wants to search the archives for a specific pattern....IMHO it is some thing that is lacking...I'd love to have someone point the way.
I guess 187 would surely be helpful to somebody.
Yeah I did what you say, typed in Pheasant Tail Nymph and got two thousand four hundred and something matches... all forum (and other) topics as far as I could see, and still no pattern.
I just thought there has to be a better system to find patterns, no big deal.
"We do not inherit the earth; we borrow it from our children."
after the first entry of "Pheasant Tail Nymph",,, then select,,, match ALL words. Cuts it down.
I suppose ....Originally Posted by Mark k

Doing that cuts it down to 145 matches, and not one is a PTN.

I went to the home page and typed in "Pheasant Tail Nymph pattern" in the search box below the fly of the week, and this link came up as the first choice. Guess I'm just lucky.
I know it means more work, but an alternative alphabetical list by the pattern names would be helpful. I've also been very successful using the search tool to find patterns. I must admit that I use the word "pattern" when looking for a specific pattern.

Joe...actually it could be luck in that that link is not in the archives....I'm thinking we are talking about fly of the week archives....am I wrong...
I at times have had more luck doing a google....sometimes getting a good FAOL link......
