I went to small pond on top of the mountain yesterday to fish a bit and mostly just paddle around in my yak. Large bluegills were in thier beds, but they only made some half-hearted attacks on a Georgia Black Cricket, the Alien. and a few small wooly buggers. They just were not going to play today.

I had a bunch of black and yellow Chernobyle Ants that were 'seconds' from a recent swap (I don't send flies out with even minor flaws in them). I tied one on. From then on, I got a strike with almost every cast. It was almost scary! Big ones, little ones, bass, Rock Bass and one catfish. A few ducks even came over to check it out.

I don't know if this was a fluke, or if this really is that deadly a pattern. I obviously have not been fishing with them enough! I will correct that problem in the future. I'm going back out today...stay tuned!
