Hook Sizes

This topic came up on another string and as it is something we can all slip up on, I thought it would be appropriate here.



The first two on the scale are often commented upon, but the third 'Model Perfect' is not often come across.
Lately many people have been using the Orvis S/E large eyed hooks, these, I believe are made for them by Daiichi, who market them as the Daiichi 1110, which is a 'Model Perfect' hook. The point is that Model Perfect hooks sizes can be deceiving.


I have not made a physical comparison yet but I shall do so and post results.

Do you know if the turned down eye preceeded the straight eye and if so can you give any documentation??

Sorry Tom, I don't know, there is someone who posts on here with a connection to Mustad, can't
remember who, or you could try Mustad youself, I believe they can be very helpfull.
