Thread: Grampus rod

  1. Default Grampus rod

Are the old japan model Grampus bamboo fly rods worth buying? Have a chance at picking one up and was wondering if it would be worth it.
    Thanks in advance

To be frank-not really. The cane is not Tonkin(as is found in most rods) it a blondish Japanese cane that is quite inferior to tonkin. Really noodely and prone to sets.

    Danny,
They aren't worth much. If you can get it real cheap, under 50.00 and your getting the entire kit it's good for a decoration but rarely good fishing rods. IMO even 50.00 is to much.
