Hi Ron,
I'm going to force that wallet a bit further open :-

For anyone keen on softhackles/spiders, I was reminded lately of a comment by Sylvester Nemes about Roger Woolley's book 'Modern Trout Fly Dressing'.
"I know of no other work on fly fishing that offers so much knowledge about and instruction on tying soft-hackled flies."
It is a little goldmine on fly tying techniques in general and has a great collection of recipes for a lot of forgotten but excellent flies and not just softhackles.

I had a search on the net and found copies of the third edition 1950 available at a very reasonable $36.63 and of the first edition 1932 at a outrageous $280.81. I can see the prices being ramped up in the near future.
