One day out on a locally well known cutthroat stream, I had a client that was landing a fish or 3 from every pool. We came to a bridge where the river was crossed by the only road in the area. We came upon a fish taking green drakes (the hatch was superb) and just could not get him. 4 different fish in the pool all took the first drift. This certain fish, though, would not. We tried drifts from every angle. As soon as our fly passed by, he would come grab a natural. We didn't even get so much as a refusal! If we walked away a bit, he would start rising more viciously and more often - if we'd carefully sneak back behind, he would start to just sip the bugs and appeared waaaay more catious. I think he DID have eyes in the back of his tail! Never did get him! Probably the funnest fish I ever had someone try for though!!

EDIT: I should mention we went all the way down to 8X to try and fool him.
