I fished the Gallatin yesterday with my younger brother. It was a nice day, in the mid 60's and the water was still quite low with good visibility. We caught a fair number of small rainbows, and towards the end of the day, I got snagged on something. I barely lifted up the rod tip, and snap the tip broke just above the male ferrule. The rod was a HI princess I had just refinished. I sat down a rock to grieve my loss, when my brother stumbled over. As he ambled over to me, he dislodged some rocks, which proceded to fall on top of the butt section of the rod, and break the cork. Not only this, but one of the rocks hit the downlocking reelseat, and pinned my reel. What a tough day.
