Renowned Outdoor Artist Larry Cory To Showcase Artwork

ANN ARBOR, MICH - February 28, 2007 ? The Ann Arbor Chapter of Trout Unlimited, an organization dedicated to Michigan outdoor conservation, will hold its 1st Annual Conservation Banquet, Thursday April 19, 2007 at the EMU Convocation Center, 799 North Hewitt Road, in Ypsilanti.

Affiliated with Michigan Trout Unlimited, AAATU is recognized as a leading authority on and watchdog for the preservation and improvement of Michigan?s natural waterways. Its unique mission includes ensuring that 100% of all money raised by the organization stays and is utilized in Michigan, including for stream improvement, cleanups and the creation of new fish habitats.

The evening will feature renowned wildlife and West Bloomfield artist Larry Cory, whose beautiful, true to life work has been enjoyed by outdoor enthusiasts for years. In recent months, Cory underwent complicated hand surgery that has prevented him from plying his life long craft. The dinner will mark his first public appearance since the surgery and first public display and auction of his work in years. All proceeds from the sale of his donated, original art will benefit AAATU and its mission.

Patrons will also experience a live auction, silent auctions and raffles for a chance at original art and antiques as well as exotic fly fishing tips, upland bird hunts, an African safari and a drawing to win a Hyde Pro Series Driftboat. Cocktails begin at 5:30 p.m. with dinner at 7:30 p.m.
