    Default Metz cream saddle

Several years ago I bought half a dozen Umpqua-Metz saddles on clearance at a local big box. One was a cream with long beautiful hackles, mostly size 14 to 16, using a griffin hackle gauge to size the hackle. It looks like a cross between a Metz and a Hoffman. I wonder is it possibly an early Metz micro barb. The feathers are almost a foot long. I plan on using two feather to tie up a dozen simple caddis. I know the price was very good , did I get something extra good without knowing it. Dan

    Dan,

Considering that I've seen individual Hoffman saddle feathers being sold on E-bay, I'd say you got a great deal. Let us know how the caddis turn out.

    Regards,
