Ladyfisher, Thanks for the post. I feel that it is very important that we all remember what Memorial day is really about. It's not just a fun day for grilling on the barbie.

I spent a very profound day at the Vicksburg National Civil war Battle Field Park. There are 14,000 unmarked graves of those that gave their lives during the siege of Vicksburg.

Here are 1,264,826 other reasons to remember.
  • Revolutionary War 4,435 dead[/*:m:0f220]
  • War of 1812 2,260 dead[/*:m:0f220]
  • Mexican War 13,283 dead[/*:m:0f220]
  • Civil War 623,026 dead[/*:m:0f220]
  • Spanish American War 2,446 dead[/*:m:0f220]
  • World War I 116,708 dead[/*:m:0f220]
  • World War II 407,316 dead[/*:m:0f220]
  • Korean War 36,914 dead[/*:m:0f220]
  • Vietnam War 58,168 dead[/*:m:0f220]
  • Persian Gulf War 269 dead[/*:m:0f220]
Of course the list continues to grow. God Bless them all.
