    Default Spring white bass run

Here in Arkansas the white bass will start their spring spawning run in a couple of weeks. I'm sharpening up the hooks on my clousers. A two or three pound white bass is great fun on a fly rod.

Here in Central Texas the White Bass have just started their spring spawn, but a problem is in the works. The fish will spawn but because of low water due to lack of rain the fish eggs will float to the top of the water where they will not hatch. The fish eggs need running water to hatch. This will be the second year for this problem. Bummer....

    Default Texas run

I used to live in Austin (for about 13 years) and would fish for the whites on the pedernales river upstream from Lake Travis. I hope your drought ends soon as I would hate to see the fisheries suffer. We had been in the drought as well for about the last two years but this winter has produced quite a bit of rain so we're hoping that our dry run is over.
