    Default Doug Swisher and the Swirle Knot

    The knot that Doug uses on his tape (Advance strategies for Selective Trout)he called it the Swirle Knot any one have any experience with this knot.

    Learned it from the same video in the 80's.

    Use for almost every thing unless I want a wiggle loop at the end .... unclosed Duncan Loop for ex.

    Landed a 11 pound Steelhead on 4x on the Snake and lots of 3 pound trout on 5 and 6 x.

    Everything has to be snugged up ... any slack might be a problem.

    Use it a lot on smaller sized dry flies. Never had any problems. Doug Swisher showed it to me on one of his trips out to New Zealand agood few years ago. Thanks Doug. Jax

    Those tapes are the 80's?

    I started to use his wristy casting style and love it. The stiff wrist never worked for me.
