I agree with Tim. I would suggest buying one of their tool kits and buy materials as you need them. My first setup was a traveller kit that they offered a few years ago and while the tools are not the best that I have, they are still very usable. It is a good way to start for a reasonable amount of cash, and leaves you with a good back up or travelling set up. No matter what you buy for your first set of tools, you will probably upgrade them before long.

P.S. Check your local library for a good selection of books and video tapes to help get you started. Some of those books can get expensive. Good luck
