Let No One Walk Alone

I let my seven year old son see the photos. Now he understands why I make him wear glasses when we go fishing. I sign off now, my eyeballs are hurting.
D Shock
I saw these pictures in another forum, and all the users called it a Jake's Lure. I've never fished with one, but that's what they called it.
Leave No Trace
It got my attention when I saw a side view of the lure. The next photo of the surface with the red dots confirmed that it was THE lure that I fished at Yellowstone lake in 1977.
My Mother has a photo on her wall of me standing in the rental boat holding a Yellowstone Cutthroat and the LURE is attached.
I was not afraid of the Super Duper/Jake's Lure treble hook, but I was very cautious with the Rapala lures (I still have) because of the double and triple treble hooks. Many yrs ago I fished for Bass with the Rapalas and fortunately I never had a accident.
Flyfishing with barbless hooks is the wisest thing you can do.
Thanks,
Doug
Enjoying the joys of others and suffering with them- these are the best guides for man. A.E.
That makes me cringe being a eye doctor. Prognosis isn't all that great.
1) just the physical damage from the accident.
2) the physical damage from the hook's removal.
3) infection, infection, infection.
4) iritis(basically the swelling of the inner eye) may be the worst of it. Hard to control once it sets up.
5)traumatic cataract
The good thing is the hook isn't in the cornea(or much of it)!
I've had one hook deep in a finger and thought that was bad!
Good fishing technique trumps all.....wish I had it.
Never seen anything close to that in the office......folks like that go directly to the hospital!Originally Posted by Big Bad Wulff

Welcome to the newest craze on the sport-fishing scene....Full-Contact fishing, where anyone can become the prey! Brought to you by the good folks at Super-Duper Lures.
Seriously, sometimes, bad accidents happen. I used to be a mate on Charter Boat out of Fla. I remember once a hooked 5' Great Barracuda jumped INTO THE BOAT....right in the customers lap! We managed to throw it back overboard, but the customer, myself and the First-Mate all had to have stiches. It was a bit scary.
I sure hope the gentleman came through the experience all right. Eye injuries are probably no picnic.
