Want to try Tarpon. What to do?

I am going with my Family on vacation to St Pete Beach the first three weeks in April. I have heard it may be bit early to try for flyfishing tarpon. Is any idea to rtake the car an go further south to hire a guide for a day. Any reccomendation welcome. Thanks

Try http://www.chff.info it's the local fly fishing club & the guides that are members can put you on the tarpon in the harbor if you can't get The Baby Tarpon Flies thread link to Capt Tony Petrella who guides in the area for tarpon, etc
