    Default To those who know,

and have supported me through this, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Please forgive me for thanking you in a general forum, rather than individually. You know if it was you, and when I needed you, you were there. Mother died yesterday. All six siblings and spouses, will gather for a celebration of her life, on Monday in Phoenix. Again, thank you. God bless.

Betty, So sorry for the loss of your mom.

You may know the author Henry Van Dyke who back in 1898 to 1900or so wrote the little books "Fisherman's Luck", and "Little Rivers."

Well, he also wrote a short poem called GONE FROM SIGHT, which I have copied and pasted below. Hope you find solace in it as I have.

    Gone From My Sight
    by Henry Van Dyke

I am standing upon the seashore. A ship at my side
spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and
starts for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty
and strength. I stand and watch her until at length
she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where
the sea and sky come to mingle with each other.

Then someone at my side says: "There, she is gone!"

    "Gone where?"

Gone from my sight. That is all. She is just as large in
mast and hull and spar as she was when she left my side and
she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her
    destined port.

Her diminished size is in me, not in her. And just at the
moment when someone at my side says: "There, she is gone!"
there are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices
ready to take up the glad shout: "Here she comes!"

    And that is dying.

I'm truly sorry to hear the bad news, Betty. We had to bury my Mom a day before the 9-11 attack and I know what if feels like (Mom was from NYC). My thoughts and prayers are with you and I wish comfort for you and your family.

    Peace be with you.

My Mom 'went home' 11 years ago. Prayer helps. Ours are with you.
