On Saturday February 10, 2007, FlyfishinginMaine.com and the Lawrence High School Fly Fishing Club will host SuberBoo IV in the gymnasium at the Lawrence Junior High School in Fairfield, Maine.

Superboo IV is a free event open to the public and gives the opportunity to those interested in bamboo rods and fly fishing to see and cast rods made by legendary and contemporary rod makers. The basic purpose of the day is to allow anglers with bamboo fly rods a chance to offer theirs for casting in exchange for the opportunity to cast other cane rods. Who will come and what rods they'll bring is always a surprise, but the past three years have seen nearly 100 cane rods each time from across time and across the country. Last year, the F. E. Thomas heirs made a surprise visit.

A rod making demonstration area organized by rodmaker David Van Burgel, classic cane rods, and videos are among other exhibits that will be on display from 8 am to 3 pm. The event is named for its close proximity to the Super Bowl. Lunch will be available on site courtesy of the LHS Fly Fishing Club. More information will be forthcoming on www.FlyfishinginMaine.com or by contacting Kathy Scott or Sante "October Woods" Guiliani, or by posting here.
