We've been worried about the snowpack this winter, which was forecast to be cold, windy and dry. Many Colorado trout streams had serious low water problems last summer.

The good news -- over 23 inches of snow at my house so far today, still snowing at over an inch per hour, and is supposed to continue all night! And I'm in the freakin' *foothills*, not the high mountains! We'll probably have to postpone Christmas dinner until everyone's plowed out, but that's a small price to pay for good water levels and good fishing next year!

Got a pile of firewood inside, got the snowshoes out of the attic, and red beans n' rice simmering on the woodstove the last 4 hours. Even my big Husky dog Kodiak is staying inside tonight....and I'm finishing up tying flies for the stilllwater swap....a very pleasant evening all around.
