Was it fun spinning deer hair? If you get some double edge razors and break it in half, you can use that to trim the deer hair and make it look real good, I mean it makes for a neat head. You can't do that with a sizzors. Your fly looks nice.

o i love spinning deer hair!!!!! and im too clumsy with razors ( ) and just plain suckish with scissors, so i use an electirc razor/shaver thing. it works super nice!!! the head on that fly (even tho you cant tell) is super smooth.

    Dsaavedra,

Good call on the razor blades. I still hate to handle them. It must come from my old, model-building days when I always seemed to cut one chunk out of the model and one chunk out of me. I always hated the moment right after that little slip when you know that you've cut yourself but you don't know how badly yet.

On the other hand, I hope that you're not using your someone elses electric razor. The unexpected appearance of blue, purple or green deer hair specks on one's face is a little hard to take early in the morning.

BTW, very nice bug. Keep up the good work! 8T

    dssavedra,

Good looking fly,I like the color combination.

One bit of constructive criticism, make sure the deer hair body does not close up the hook gap too much, the more of the gap you have open, the better.

Nice work, looking forward to seeing more bass bugs. They are my favorite fly to tie, nothing like making a mess with deer hair!
