I don't recall if this has ever been discussed and another thread prompted me to ask the following question about wading.

You've waded out and it's time to wade back. You're far out, mid chest deep and the current is moving enough to make wading back somewhat hairy. Additionally, you do not have a wading staff.

Here's the question: Do you wade out on an angle with the current or do you wade out at an angle against the current? Why?

I'd wade out going against the current. I think it's easier to keep balance fighting the current than adding to the waters momentum by going with it.
