Almost like a private chat room.
You may not have found it yet, the little list of 'Who is on the bb at this time.' It's down near the bottom and shows who is in at the same time that you are. If you click on any name it brings up their profile,,, and a link to their Private Message box. So, any time you are bored, check over the list, send them a PM, chat that way,,, or meet them in the chat room which is always open.
I'd found the list, but hadn't thought of using it that way. Good idea.

i like seeing who is posting a message. if i read all of the new ones and see there is someone posting, i'll stay on. if there is nobody posting then i'll leave. i have PM'd back and forth with guys that i see are on to
