I just found out Orvis won't honor the warranty if it's bought on ebay. Even if it is brand new with warranty card. I could lie and say it was a gift, but I can't do that.
In a way i'm kind of glad. I really like my Scott G 9'5wt. So, i'm staying with that. It will give me more options than the softer Superfine 4wt. It will also go well with the CFO C&P reel i'm getting. How old a design is the G rod? 30 yrs? That fits in perfect.
Would running a 4wt line give me a softer presentation on smaller streams? I have a Rio Selective trout 4wt line. Any good? I also have a Wulff TT 5wt line. Which would be better?
I was going to buy an Orvis Superfine 8'4wt. After talking to people about it. it might have been a little soft for all I want to do. I still would have held up my end of the deal, but not without a warranty. I've been known to fall down and break stuff.
