Perhaps the oldest form of fly for warmwater or cold is the soft hackle fly. I suppose there are some rigid, historical names, but sometimes they're just named for the colors represented. This is another "concept" swap. It doesn't matter the color nor the name. Personally I have a dickens of a problem getting a decent look using the partidge feathers, so this is more of a personal challenge than anything else. I'm forcing myself to tie a fly worthy of sending out to a dozen of you folks. We'll leave this open until we have an even dozen, and we'll make the deadline March 1, 2007 as the deadline. Mail in your choice of container with the appropriate return postage to John G. White, Box 672, Clara City, MN 56222.
