Default After Shock Swap Is in the Mail

Remember the first fly you ever tied? Well, this is for the first one AFTER the wooly bugger. Here's your chance to revisit that monumental moment in your fly tying life. We'll take a dozen tyers and no Wooly Buggers. Sign up by mid-December, flies due to John G. White, Box 672, Clara City, MN 56222 by February 1.

I remember a very badly tied Clouser. I would like to join with a hopefully better tied Clouser.

One of the first flies I tied was a rabbit fur leech pattern, not sure if it was the first as I think I first tied a marabou jig. The first real fly was probably the rabit fur leech pattern that does so well in lakes here.

Count me in with a rabbit fur leech I am tying some of these for the still water swap but can do a different color for this one.

Got you in, Hillard. Although it almost sounds like a Beethoven piece. Fur (a) Leech! JGW

The first fly I tied was a Green Weenie, it was too big, it was lumpy, it had spaces between the wraps and the head was a mess, but I caught a couple of fish before it fell apart. I think I would like to tie some up for this swap if that is ok. John
I wish you all everlasting flies and tight lines.

JGW that and the barbie bug are my go to flies when nothing else works. Thanks for letting me join in on this swap. John

THe swaps not even full yet but I got my leeches done tonight. I'll stick em in the mail sometime next week or the next. I have a few other swaps to get tyed for so I'll mail them all at once.

THe beauty in this leech is it's so simple to tie, it doesn't matter how ugly it turns out it catches tons of fish everywhere it is fished. It is my go to pattern in most lake situations arround here. It works so well I tie it in many sizes, colors, with and without a wire rib, bead head or not. I actually carry a box of just variations on this leech at all times, and it has to be the most productive lake pattern I fish

    John,
I can tie bead head flashback Pheasant Tails if you are interested. This would be my first swap, so please provide more details.

    Thank you
    Joe
