In your story you said "I'll prefer to drop down onto the beach and lounge around a bit, waiting. (It is amazing how comfortable one can be while taking a nap on the river worn round rocks on some of our beaches)."

It brought a smile to my face. I know just what you mean, having spent a few moments resting on those very same stones. I still have that image in my mind. Me, laying down on those stones, in a pleasant state of half sleep, you and two other fishermen talking in French, so I only 1/2 (or 1/4) understood what you were saying. What I did know is that it was very pleasant, resting there by the river side with the sounds of the run and the French rolling off your tongues. I lay there a few extra minutes because I did not think that fishing would be more pleasurable than resting on the stones, a few feet from the water's edge.

Days like that do not slip from one's mind for a long, long time.
